Local Lettuce You Can Trust!

It’s been a rough summer for lettuce, but we’re so glad we have access to fresh, local greens from farmers we trust like Adam’s Acres! New to our shelves this week: cantaloupe (Persimmon Ridge Farm), curly parsley (Always Somethin’ Farm), super ripe peaches and blackberries (Ellis Family Farm), Easter egg radishes (Epiphany Farms), napa cabbage (Saratoga Homestead).

You’ve probably had amaranth, a gluten-free heritage grain similar to quinoa, but we’re super excited about trying amaranth greens this week from Saratoga Homestead!

August RoundUp: Devices 4 the Disabled

This month, our Round-Up at the Register partner is Devices for the Disabled, a nonprofit on Chicago’s south side that refurbishes used medical equipment that otherwise would end up in landfills.
When you Round Up at the Register this month, your funds directly support an organization providing free critical medical equipment to those who need it most: those without insurance, who are underinsured or lack the finances to purchase the equipment they desperately need.
