With Sunny Akhigbe of the A Boy and His Dream Foundation, we’re excited to present this free event. It will focus on approaches to eating well within real-world constraints like cost, access, and time, tips for selecting wholesome foods on a budget, and ways families can improve their health through everyday food choices.

Featured Women-Owned Business

Women-owned businesses are the backbone of our local food economy! Since March is Women’s History Month, we’re celebrating some of the women-owned businesses you can find at Wild Onion Market.

First up is Tasting India, experts in micro-batch roasted and handcrafted spice blends! For founder Chef Jasmine, cooking is a way to bring together community. Spices are personal for Jasmine, who comes from a long line of fierce and talented women, and has fond memories of cooking and learning the magic of spices, business and independence with her aunts and mother.

New From 4 Suns Kitchen

In need of a hug? Or maybe comfort in a bowl? Chefs Byron and Gabi are serving up just that with their new vegan lentil soup. Comforting, cozy, and full of nourishing ingredients like carrots, onions, celery, herbs and spices, this soup tastes just like home to us. Plus, 4 Suns Kitchen helps divert food waste by using still-good ingredients from Wild Onion Market.

And, 4 Suns collaborated with Wild Onion owners and farmers Lisa and Chris Gibbons from Skipping Stone Farm to press wild fresh elderberry juice and mix it with other fruits and spices—read their story below.

NEW: Vegan Lentil Soup
Available at 4 Suns Kitchen deli

Fresh from the Gibbon’s farm—they have over 50 wild bushes—the elderberries are hand-picked and boiled down to a syrup with lemon, spices, and raw organic honey.
Located in Buchanan, MI, Skipping Stone Farm is 92 acres of land that the Gibbons are actively restoring and converting to organic land by integrating permaculture practices and regenerating 60 acres of woods, prairie, and swamp. Hard, but worthwhile work for the land and farm they love!
Orange, Apple, Elderberry Juice
Available at to-go cooler next to the deli.
